Home.I'm New.Adventurers.Sundays at HPC.HPC in the week.Sermon Archive.About Us.
What is Adventurers?
It’s a club for children aged 6 to 14, running from 23rd to 27th July. Every day there are two parts to the adventure. Firstly, we take the children to local attractions and arrange activities in the church and the surrounding district for them to enjoy. Secondly, all the leaders in the club are Christians and we teach children, in fun ways, what the Bible says about Jesus and what it means to follow him today.
Who runs Adventurers?
The club is a partnership between Headley Park Church and Briarwood Church, in Birmingham, Alabama.  We hope to have some leaders coming from America!

The overall leader of Adventurers is Neil Todman.  He is one of the leaders of Headley Park Church and a former teacher at St. Mary Redcliffe Secondary School.

Junior Adventurers (6-10s) at Headley Park is led by Simon Dowland, a teacher at St. Mary Redcliffe Secondary School.

Senior Adventurers (11-14s) is led by Ruth Dowland, a secondary school teacher at Nailsea school, and Simon Iles, who has just completed a PGCE at Bristol University.

We take child protection very seriously.  All the helpers from the UK are CRB checked and all the volunteers from America must provide full references.

How much does it cost?
The cost of Adventurers is £40 per child per week or £10 per day.  However, if siblings come together then the first child pays £40 and the others just £25 each for the week.

The deposit is £20 per family.  The remainder will be payable on the first morning of Adventurers at registration.

Please note this does not include lunch. Children are expected to bring a packed lunch every day.
How do I get my children signed up?
Simply fill in the consent form and enclose a cheque for £20 made payable to “Headley Park Church”.  Either post it through the church letterbox on St. Peter’s Rise, marked for Alix Dyer, (Adventurers Administrator), or post to:

Because we work on very strict ratios of no more than five children per adult, places at Adventurers are limited.  If the club is full then your child’s name will be added to a waiting list and your deposit returned.
